They are our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, our family... and they need OUR help!

A letter from our Executive Director

November 26, 2007

Dear Alpha 2 Friend --

Substance abuse is a dilemma that affects all of us.  The costs associated with untreated substance abuse related issues cost taxpayers millions of dollars each year.  While the state does provide funding to treat people with substance abuse issues, the money provided is not enough to help everyone that is in need.  Every day over 1,000 Oklahomans are on “waiting lists” for treatment services across the state.

Fortunately, Alpha 2 can help.  We have recently been CARF accredited which places our facility in the top 20% nationwide in rehabilitation services.  No where in our northern Oklahoma community, will someone be able to receive better services than they do here at Alpha 2.  In addition, recent changes have allowed us to begin to increase the bed space for the number of men (and their families) that we serve.

How does this affect you?  Unfortunately the effects of chemical dependency affect all of us.  Whether it is an increase crime rate, domestic abuse, failed marriages, lost productivity, we all know someone who has struggled with addiction and is in need of help.  They are our friends, our family, our neighbors, and they need our help!

How can you help?  Fortunately the opportunities to help are endless.  From donations of goods, donations of time, and donations of money, you are able to help us make a difference in the lives of the men we serve in our Northern Oklahoma community.

With you tax deductible donation in any amount, we will be able to immediately provide expanded services to the over 1,000 individuals that need our immediate help.  Your donation can provide:

o        $200 – Meals for one client for a month

o        $300 – Rent for one client for one month

o        $840 – Co-Pay Scholarship for one client to attend our 42 day program

o        $4,000 – Scholarship for one client to attend our 42 day program

Each day that goes by, we miss the opportunity to help just one more person, and to improve the quality of life for that person, their friends, family, neighbors and community.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best wishes to you and your family,

Kari L. Scott

Executive Director

PS – Keep in mind that many clients come in with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and with winter fast approaching we are in need of coats, hats and warm clothing!

I would like to contribute to Alpha 2 and its continued success!
